Play-Date gaming (Adults or Children) with Other Participants

This Accredited Therapist led concept fosters creativity, aiming to enhance confidence, social aptitude, and communication abilities in a 1:1 and 2:1 ratio. Participants team up with eTherapists for enjoyable challenges tailored to their therapy objectives.

Think of it as an online playdate where participants, along with eTherapists, engage in gaming sessions to promote friendship. This setup offers the advantage of the option of “chaperone style” supervision with an eTherapist guiding participants, aiding in their social & communicative growth plus monitored interaction with other players.

This allows for up 6 players. 1:1 is ideal for those requiring greater supervision. 2:1 is ideal for those who feel more comfortable in a social setting with adequate support.

Meet New Friends in Play-Date Game Therapy

All our Play-Date sessions are led by an Accredited Therapist. This means that there is a qualified Counsellor /  Psychotherapist in every Play-Date. This provides the participant professional support along with assistance should they require it. This means that if social settings are overwhelming for a participant, the eTherapist can suggest a “time-out” in a private game or channel with any participant to support them without disrupting the session for other participants.

Play-Date Gaming Programs

We offer sessions using a variety of games such as Fortnite, Minecraft, Roblox, and more. Participants should have experience with at least one of these games to facilitate meaningful connections.

Benefits of Play-Date Gaming
The eTherapist (Chaperone)

All Play-Date sessions are led by an Accredited Therapist.

Play-Dates are the only form of group therapy offered by Minds except with the care and attention of a 1:1 or 2:1 ratio.

The Accredited Therapist works collaboratively with other allied health therapists or professional game masters in a social setting. On any given session our professional game masters, counsellors, psychotherapists, social workers or other allied health professionals could be providing support to accommodate a 1:1 ratio. We refer to all our online therapy workers as ‘eTherapists’

Plus with multiple eTherapists in many sessions allow for an abundance of skill, knowledge, expertise, and attention rarely seen in any form of group therapy.
